Yet Another Reason to Go Back

I love Sir Martin and the PIDC Adj Core. They felt like family! And yes, the hum-drum of non-debate life is back and I find myself suffering from bouts of post-tournament syndrome. Even if I'm no longer a debater!

I miss you guys. Thanks for the experience

And below, the letter from Sir Martin which I'd probably print and put in my memory box :p :p :p

====================================

hi guys,

again, i'd like to express my deepest gratitude to each and every DCA who
made PIDC a very memorable experience for me. i congratulate you all for the
professionalism and the loads of fun you have brought in the table. i
recognize that participating in the adjudication team has set aside a
sizeable portion of your schedule and i'm eternally thankful for that.

I would definitely miss our brainstorming for our motions (which I am very
very proud of) and the more-than-occasiona l digressing to "juicy" tattles &
quips on the debating community. This group is certainly the best adj core
I've worked with and it felt really sad that our work of two-or-so months is
already done.

it was my honor to have been part of this fine group of intellectuals.
thanks very much.

Sir Martin :D

Getting out of a Rut (Finally, Finally)

It's 5:53 a.m. and I'm just about to go to sleep. My eyes are all squinty, I've been up since yesterday morning and I have a meeting later at 11 a.m. which I can't be late for--but I don't care. I feel accomplished. Tired, but accomplished. And here's why:

  •  After a week and 2 hours of waiting: I finally, finally have my TIN number. Whew!
  • Since I have my TIN number, I was finally, finally able to apply for my student's permit. Double whew!
  • Since I already have a student's permit, I could already (finally, finally) enroll in a driving course! AT LAST. WHEW.

That was the biggest relief of yesterday. The knowledge that by 4 p.m. today, I will receive expensive driving lessons from some Red1 instructor dude. And hopefully, after 5 hours spent with him, I will finally, finally be able to parallel park, etc. etc.

That wasn't my only cause for celebration though. I was finally, finally able to pick up the 23 Balikbayan Boxes of books that Ateneo Law School (through the ever-beautiful, ever-generous Ms. Jay Viray) donated to the Ople Center. It strained some of my muscles, but what the hell. That's exercise, right? :p

I also brought a brand new tangerine dress. And received a compliment or two on it (I'm hot daw, yiiha!). And finally, finally spent some time with Kuya Pao again (one of my favorite people on Earth).

He treated me to dinner (Kulinarya) and to a midnight snack (Tapa King--takaw namin 'no? hehe) and took me for a joyride on his hot new Subaru car (I swear, the rate he was driving, I sometimes felt like I was in a roller coaster). In return, I pointed out hot chicks to him, gave him a hug and treated him to a Bo's Coffee Drink. :p Hardly fair for him, but my company's worth it. (hehe, kidding).

So he dropped me off at my place around 2 a.m. and I took his advice to heart: I started writing a cover letter for my application to my dream job. *cross fingers* I guess it wouldn't hurt to try.

It's now 6:04 a.m. and I'm still high that I got so much done in so much time. Haha. It took me 2 hours to write that friggin cover letter! but it's worth it--I promised myself I won't procrastinate on it anymore. I really, really want this job.

O.o Pray for me?

hehe.

P.S. The Ople Center's Microsoft Tulay Project also got approved! Hurray, hurray! :D And all this happened yesterday!
